1958

Eraldo Colelli found IMAP Ascensori, which is specialized in elevator services and maintenance.

1974

Giovanni Colelli joins the company as Project Manager.

1981

Massimo Colelli joins the company as Director of Services.

1982

The company embarks on the distribution of automated systems for automatic doors.

1984

General Door is founded as a spin-off from IMAP Ascensori, focusing on all activities related to automatic doors

1988

The HDG 180, the first microprocessor electronic board, entirely designed and built within the GENERAL DOOR, is launched on the market

1989

The first automatic door equipped with an anti-panic device with integral breakout system for escape route approved by the Fire Department

1992

GENERAL DOOR launches the MP21, the first electronic card equipped with two microprocessors and a remote terminal for monitoring and managing the automated door.

1994

As part of a business rationalization, the company branch relating to the services and maintenance of elevators is sold. The core business becomes GENERAL DOOR, of which Giovanni Colelli becomes design manager and Massimo Colelli technical manager

1997

General Door launches SL117, an automatic door specially developed for mid-range commercial businesses.

2003

The electronic card J7, equipped with new-generation microprocessors is launched and substitutes the obsolete MP21.

2008

General Door makes its debut in the yachting sector with the supply, for a yacht of 55 meters f.t., for three automatic doors with wings of 600 kg each

2010

The first automatic 3-leaf door with synchronous telescopic opening is built for a 42-meter yacht

2012

General Door launches the first automatic door with a built-in watertight door system with an inflatable seal, completely handled by the automatic door.

2015

General Door develops an automated curved door 8 meters large and with a 4 meters radius, with a total leaf’s weight of 2000 Kg.

2019

The founder’s grandchildren, Luca Stefano and Francesca Colelli join the company which is renamed Electronic Motion Controls SRL, expanding the business area as well as on the construction of automatic doors, to automation systems for pleasure craft

2022

The range of traction motors is expanded with the introduction of a new AC model characterized by an extruded aluminum casing specifically designed to improve heat dissipation and system efficiency

2023
A new version of the pneumatic system is available, entirely housed inside an anodized aluminum container with removable cover; the small dimensions (80×80 mm) allow for easy and convenient positioning of the entire system, near the automation.
